75-year-old man dies of coronavirus, Udupi death toll reaches 13

Udupi, Jul 25: A 75-year-old man suffering from coronavirus, died on Friday July 24. With this, the death toll in the district has risen to 13.

The man, who was a native of Shivamogga, was facing health issues related to kidney and lungs. He had come to Udupi for treatment and was admitted to KMC Hospital Manipal here.

As based on his health status, doctors conducted a swab test after he was admitted, and the result confirmed that he had contracted the infection.

He was under critical condition and was getting treated in the ICU with ventilator support. He did not respond to the treatment and died on the night of Friday July 24.

The funeral will be conducted at a local cemetery here as per government protocols.

    An elderly man with comorbidities died with the virus. Had he no comorbidities, he woulf have recovered soon. Are they recording all deaths as Covid-related even if the death was due to something else and the patient just happened to have contracted the virus too? How padded are the numbers worldwide? It boggles the mind!
