Bengaluru: Congress to hold nationwide 'save democracy' protest against BJP on July 27

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 26: The state Congress will launch a 'save democracy, save Constitution' protest against the ruling BJP government in front of Raj Bhavan here on Monday, July 27.

Reports stated that Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi has given instructions to the state Congress to hold the protest against BJP. The state Congress leaders have decided to launch the protest at 1.30 pm on Monday.

Sources in Congress said that the party has planned the protest condemning the 'attack on the democracy and constitution of the country' by the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Recently, BJP national leaders were successful in bringing down the Congress government led by Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh. Now, the Congress government in Rajasthan led by CM Ashok Gehlot, ridden with internal squabbles, is also on the brink of collapse. It is said that these are the reasons for the Congress protest against the BJP.

Sonia Gandhi has asked the leaders of her party to hold nationwide protests in front of Raj Bhavans of respective states, condemning these alleged 'tactics' of the BJP government.

In Karnataka, the protest will be held in front of Raj Bhavan under the leadership of opposition leader and former CM Siddaramaiah and new KPCC president D K Shivakumar.

save democracy in congress party first. Young leaders don't see any opportunity in continuing with this Italian mafia family business party. Every situation proved that they are not with India. They are just interested to loot and loot more and more.

The PM Modi' BJP central ruling governance has no respect for 'voters mandate' nor democratic values elected by the people of the nation.

Today more than 8 states BJP in illicit government through 'operation kamala' buying the entire opposition party in some states.

I would rather suggest Congress party to groom grass root workers and invest in smart canvasing connecting people. The protest should create awareness about the BJP government promises and failure and economic condition of the nation. It need to be more innovative and at the same time approach legal to strengthen anti-defection law. The party should have zero tolerance to the 'Aaay Ram Gaya Ram'.

chedigulaamas are under the sway of one leader and one "ideology"... since they do not see any other leader or ideology...Congress should go back to its roots, build following through social engineering and secularism... no more old leaders, no more dynastic representatives, no more corrupt or addled minority politicians (Congress should be extremely careful and promote well educated progressive thinking minority leaders)...first and foremost dump all old faces Kamal Nath, Gehlot, Siddayya etc...and put them in Marg darshak Mandal...RG, SG, PG proved that they do not have any impact on electorate, time to take back seat and hand-over the steering to more intellectual leaders...or pass on the opposition leadership to S Pawar....

Gehlot has rightly said that the BJP has become a shameless party with no Principles or Ethics. While the country is grappling with a serious Pandemic, the central Govt is busy destabilising opposition ruled state govts with inducements and threats of action by the central enforcement agencies to Intimidate and Harass Political Opponents.
This is the Ugly face of Modi's Maan Ki Baat and his innocent pretentions behind TV cameras in his repeated address to the nation. No doubt he has not addressed a Single Press Conference in the last six years so that he need not be confronted with such glaring attempts to derail Democracy in our country and all issues concerning the country and its people.
There is no Doubt that Modi himself is involved in all these toppling games and making a mockery of Democracy by subverting the will of the people. For the PM of a Great country like ours to remain a Mute Spectator to this street level politics is a Shameful and Disgusting.
All those in the BJP who have a Conscience and Love for our country should Resign from the BJP to save our country.

Understand the frustrations, but was not BJP elected with 303 Lok Sabha members in 2019 up from 282 seats it won in 2014? This means absolute majority for second straight term! Literacy levels are low I presume

    CONgress should first save itself.
I recollect the Save Tiger campaign some years back which was highly successful.
CONgressmen and women should adopt similar methods to save party in states.
Also talking of democracy, is this not same party which imposed Emergency in country for 2 years? Talk of double standards!

BJP should simply stop contesting elections and wasting money on campaigns. Use that money to just buy a majority each time and topple the elected goverment in each state.

Truly it is attack on democracy in MP,Rajasthan,Goa,Karnataka likewise.

Immagine National leading party which could not gain access to any single metropolitan cities-states in India like Mumbai ,Chennai , Delhi , Kolkata which is real example where they are.
Even they have majority they failed to impress a single state of Metropolitaine that is the backbone of a country.
