Kasargod: Sand Transporters Using Stolen Check Post Receipts Arrested

Kasargod, Mar 8: Three persons, who illegally transported sand extracted from Karnataka by using fake signatures and rubber stamps on stolen check post receipts, were arrested by the policemen of Manjeshwar police station in the district on Sunday March 7.

The arrested are Sheikh Ali (30) from Uluvar, Ibrahim (21) from Paivalike and Deepak (22) from Koottuparamba. The officials nabbed the three, after verifying the documents produced by the driver of a truck carrying a load of sand at Chervattoor check post. The check post receipts had been stolen from a receipt book of Paivalike Babukatte check post, and the personnel there had filed a police complaint about 11 missing receipts.

The accused were produced in the court, upon which, they were remanded to judicial custody.
