Bengaluru: High court seeks investigation report from state government on SOP violations by VIPs

Bengaluru, Jul 28: The state high court has instructed the state government to submit an investigation report into cases of flagrant violation of standard operating procedures (SOP) like maintaining social distancing, wearing of masks and other COVID-19 guidelines by persons in responsible positions. It took the government to task for going soft on politicians and cine actors who are guilty of violating the SOP.

The division bench comprising Chief Justice, A S Oka, and Justice Sachin Shankar Mugdam heard a public interest litigation filed by Ledtzkid Foundation and interim application filed by advocate Geetha Mishra, on the issue on Monday July 27.

The bench directed the government to place before it investigation report into COVID rule violations by, MLA M K Somashekhar, actor Darshan, minister Nagesh, and MP Shobha Karandlaje during their visit to Chamundi Hill, during the foundation laying ceremony for Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda statue, marriage of former minister P T Parameshwar Naik’s son's marriage, protest by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee DK Shivakumar's daughter's engagement ceremony, marriage of the daughter of MLA Mahantesh Kavatagimath, offering Bagina by minister B Sriramulu etc.

Advocates Puthige Ramesh and G R Mohan, appeared on behalf of the petitioners and placed arguments.

    Court should take serious note to this as these Politicians not bothered about the Rules and regulations. They are the first openders to break the Rule. No discussions and put them straitway Behind Bars. Kindly don't show any Mercy.
