Udupi witnesses five corona-related deaths in two days, toll reaches 21

Udupi, Jul 28: A 60-year-old person from Karkala taluk had been admitted into the district hospital here with symptoms of coronavirus infection. After his test report confirmed the infection, he was shifted to Dr TMA Pai Hospital. He breathed his last on Monday. It is said that he did not have any other health-related complications. This has been considered as the first ever death to have occurred in the district on account of coronavirus infection symptoms.

A person from Nejar, aged 44, had been admitted into a hospital at Kallianpur for treating heart problems. As his health condition was serious he was being taken to the district hospital on Saturday night when he passed away. Initial tests gave negative result but after death, the test confirmed that he was coronavirus positive.

A 45-year-old person from Shankarnarayana in Kundapur taluk was being taken to district hospital from the taluk hospital at Kundapur when his end came. He also tested positive for coronavirus infection.

A person aged 60 had been admitted into the government hospital at Kundapur. He was being taken to Brahmavar for ICU bed on Sunday night when he breathed his last.

A person aged 40 from Ulloor village in Kundapur taluk had come from Bengaluru on July 24. Later he suffered from fever. On Sunday, tests confirmed that he had coronavirus infection. Immediately he was shifted to the COVID hospital at Kundapur. But he did not respond to treatment and passed away in the night.

A total of 42 persons with suspected coronavirus infection, and also symptoms of SARI and ILI have been admitted into hospitals in the district as on Monday July 27. They are under treatment.

Of late, it is a cause of concern that 98 percent of the people do not display coronavirus infection symptoms. Therefore, the health department has warned people to take care of their health, particularly those having complications connected with their lungs. The department has asked the people to get their health checked even when the symptoms are minor in nature.

    I think by this time, total covid19 real infections may be twice the government available numbers..
