This is exactly what's stopping us from becoming a developed country!
When sincere, honest and hard working officers are transferred like this and that too in less than a year.

Both Ms Sindhu and Dr Harsha have been sent to Bengaluru...which must be more comfortable place for themselves and also their families... after hectic duty times in DK, they are going for administrative lighter roles...they richly deserve respite...

However for people of Mangalore, Dr Rajendra will take his time to get into the groove...break in continuity in handling the no. 1 enemy i.e. corona virus...one can only hope case figures will not go sky high in Mlr...

In the place of Dr Harsha, Vikash Kumar is posted, he is stranger to this place. Hailing from a far off state, he may have difficulty in coping with heat, rains of coast and also food habits....

In the interim, all local mischief mongers and trouble makers will have easy time...

Thank you Madam Sindhu for the excellent job you did as DC of our district. We are unfortunate that your tenure has ended so early and abruptly. Never the less you will give down in history of our district for your efficiency. All the best to you in your new assignment and may God protect and guide you and your family! All the very best to you!

Frequent transfers of district collectors ( deputy commissioners ) is a curse to any district. It takes atleast six months to understand and study the district. If DC's are transferred to whims and fantasies of political class, District will suffer in the long term. Also it will demoralise these I.A.S. officers who are at the initial stage of their career.

You can study about any district in India, within 2hours of crash course from internet... if they take 6months to study, 1 year to implement something means they are still in 1947 system.

As per you a new DC requires only 2 hrs to study entire district and get into work. But Modi asked 100 days to bring black money from Swiss Bank, to end corruption and now 6 years completed nothing happened. Same thing applies to Modi's 50 days after demonetisation, 21 days to defeat Corona, etc, Please advice Modi also...

Peter, during early days district administration was little prepared to handle corona passengers at the mangalore international airport. Quarantines were poorly handled and it resulted in many deaths at bc road. Frankly speaking, revenue officials have poor knowledge about these matters.

Sri_elder, Sirjee please worry about Karkala as covid cases are building up. What Mangalore DC has done was exceptional being such complex city with poor infrastructure. Don't draw conclusion citing some one was not saluted and garlanded while landing at MIAP.

    Naveen,
It's not lady DC. Its just DC.
One should not assign gender to the position of a person. Do we call men as man DC?
I understand, maybe you incorrectly address it.

You call some one a narrow minded person and then you say "As a lady DC...".
Why link gender?. She was DC of DK... One may comment on her actions as an officer of the Government and not as a "Lady" officer of the Government.

I am not saying, she has done any wrong, but there was room for improvement.
For example, initially there were press release by dc for declaring containment zones, buffer zones etc. But there was no single word requesting people to cooperate etc. Incidents with first neuro hospital was another story.. she may not be directly responsible but always credit or debit goes to dc!

Rightly said Reshmi. She has done a Tremendous job during the Pandemic time. But such Honest person are required for the Society but Government does not need such Honest DC's but Corrupt and who bow to the wishes of their Bosses, even though the Bosses are wrong. You cannot Question the Bosses or give your Views. If you try to do it. Door KS shown to you.
