After four suicides, Palwal police search for the 'truth'

Palwal, Jul 29 (IANS): Four suicides in a week in Haryana's Palwal have created a sensation in the area.

The matter came to light when a doctor, a resident of Chajjunagar in Palwal committed suicide by consuming poison on July 22 and his family alleged that he was honey-trapped by a girl and her parents and was blackmailed for money. However, four days later, all three accused in the case including two women also committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Palwal. Now, the family of the three deceased has alleged that they took the extreme step after a baseless and false allegation by the doctor's family.

"We have not even called them for questioning and were investigating the case registered against them. However, the three jumped in front of the train and committed suicide on July 27. Now, we are investigating if they were allegedly tortured by the man's family who earlier committed suicide," said Deepak Gahlawat, SP Palwal.

The family members of the three deceased have maintained that a false case has been registered at Chandhut police station by the doctor's family because of which the couple along with their daughter took the extreme step and ended their life.

"The family of the doctor had lodged a false complaint against my brother because of which my brother along with his wife and daughter was forced to end his life," said a relative of the deceased.

The police have started an investigation now into the allegation and counter allegation by the relatives of the deceased. Police are also investigating the authenticity of the evidence provided by the doctor's family for levelling allegations against the three persons including two women.
