Bengaluru: CM Yediyurappa tests positive for coronavirus, hospitalised

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SHP)

Bengaluru, Aug 3: Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa has tested positive for coronavirus infection. This confirmation came after the CM tweeted about his condition. He has been hospitalised as a precautionary measure and assured that he was doing fine. Earlier on Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah had also tested positive for coronavirus.

As per reports, the Karnataka chief minister has been admitted to Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru.

The 77-year-old CM has requested all those who came in contact with him recently to 'be observant' and undergo self-quarantine.

"I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine," Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa tweeted.

Yediyurappa has become the second chief minister in India, after Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, to test positive for coronavirus.

The CM was undergoing self-isolation for a few weeks after some of his staff at his office-cum-residence 'Krishna' contracted the coronavirus infection.

Until recently, Karnataka has been recording a continuous spike in coronavirus cases. Furthermore, most of the cases have been deemed untraceable raising concern amid the authorities. The state on Sunday reported over 5,532 fresh cases of coronavirus and 84 corona related deaths in the past 24 hours pushing the tally of confirmed cases to 1.34 lac and the death toll to 2,496.

Entire world should have isolated and cut all contacts with China during the last week of January itself...
That means that there is no unity among world leaders during difficult times.

I think only country survived from the pandemic is North Korea, which has highly restricted border control. As soon as Wuhan events broke out north Korea closed its border with China and rest of the world. They are most intelligent people on this earth 🤔
