Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 4: Former chief minister and current opposition leader Siddaramaiah has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been admitted to hospital.

As per information, he is also suffering from urinary tract infection and was admitted into Manipal Hospital for treatment at around 3.30 am today.

He had developed urinary infection about two weeks back and was consuming porridge made of barley to address the issue at home thrice a day. But yesterday night he suffered from pain and fever, and as such, at the advice of his son, Dr Yatindra, got admitted into Manipal Hospital without further delay.

It is learnt that the COVID test performed on him after he got admitted gave a positive result. Siddaramaiah, it is learnt, also has heart-related health issues and had undergone angioplasty in the past.

"I have been tested positive for #Covid19 & also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution. I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms & to quarantine themselves," Siddaramaiah tweeted.

It may be recalled that chief minister, Yediyurappa, also has got admitted into the said hospital after testing positive for coronavirus. Hospital sources said that his health condition is stable.

Both the current and past chief ministers of Karnataka stand admitted into the special wards in the fifth floor of the hospital.

Looks like you misinterpreted my sentence. I agree corona doesn't look at religion or party..
What I'm saying is all leaders getting infected at the same time. Seems lik all had attended a party together and here their followers are fighting over congress-bjp and hindu-muslim-christian

Suddenly Corona Virus seems to be chasing Indian Politicians. Union Home Minister, our CM & Company and now the Opposition as well. Bit difficult to digest. Is it because public sympathy has been missing for them? May be these are confident that the doctors would work for them and not make any statement that would kill their plans
