    5th August 2020 - a day of true Independence

When the British left the shores of India on 15th August 1947, Indians celebrated thinking it to be our independence. On 5th August 2020, they may just celebrate another independence, a task that was left unfinished, that 15th August 1947 didn’t accomplish, a freedom from fear, injustice and humiliation for a people used to slavery.

In school textbooks every school child in India is taught that when the British left us on 15th August 1947 we became independent. Future generations might just say, “No, we didn’t,” and write, “It was the day when a group of White men who ruled us left our shores in fear. They left behind a people filled with shame to be ruled by a group of men who had brown skin but thought like them, had the same mindset. Everything that makes a man free was left untouched.”

FYI, none of this would have taken place had not congress single handedly fought and defeated your bosses Britishers and brought Independance to India. Even your BJP communal party wouldn't have existed. Don't brag so much and take credit for what to did not participate and achieve on the contrary you were fighting against Indian independence.

    Bhavya Baliga,

How many leaders in BJP party you can point out as sons/daughters of Freedom Fighters ? I say, none, Because, the BJP's origin lies in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, formed in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mukherjee. After the State of Emergency in 1977, the Jana Sangh merged with several other parties to form the Janata Party. Bharatiya Jana Sangh was contradicting everything Congress took up, during freedom fight.

The Freedom you are enjoying today is the hard work of Congress Party's forefathers. The budget Modi put into action plan in 2014 was the collection (from peoples' taxes) by Congress Party. Today, India has deficit budget, Modi and team swallowed up all that was available at hand. Please teach this to today's children.

Absolute inefficiency to run the nation's economy. You have nothing to boast about.
