First in country - Mobile RT-PCR lab launched in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 6: The country's first ever and only RT-PCR COVID mobile testing unit developed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) here, which has been approved by the Indian Council for Medical Research, was launched by state minister for medical education, Dr K Sudhakar, on Wednesday August 5.

After launching the lab, he handed it over to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

This facility, which is certified for bio safety, is well equipped COVID testing lab that can give test result in four hours.

It has capacity to conduct 400 tests every day and is ideally suited for use in containment zones where large numbers of tests need to be performed.
