Beltangady, Mar 14: Speaking after presiding over a programme organized at Kanyady Srirama Temple on the occasion of the consecration of the white stone statue of Sri Atmananda Saraswati Swamiji and oblation of 100 crore repetitions of Lord Rama’s name, organized at Kanyady in the taluk on Sunday March 13, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr Veerendra Heggade, said that nurturing devotion inside us works to purify us continuously. He advised people to have the Lord within us, rather than showing artificial devotion in front of others.
“All of us wish that ideals are achieved, but fail to follow the path that leads us towards these ideals. A major chunk of the devotees want instant solutions to their problems in their worldly affairs, business, family problems etc., and seek the Lord’s grace only when they have problems at hand. Paying hefty ‘Dakshine’ to priests, circumambulating the sanctum sanctorum and performing pujas will not be of any help if there is no devotion inside you,” he warned.
Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt said that chanting of Lord Rama’s name has the potential to give the concerned a personality that enables him to reach heights of nobility without having to cross the limits. Sri Brahmanada Saraswati Swamiji of Kanyady said that chanting of Lord Rama’s name helps people to control their perversions and lust. Sri Vijayananda Swamiji of Belgaum Bevinakoppa Mutt said that a time has come for the Mutts to come together in the interests of the overall well being of the people.
Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, Balekudru Sri Nrisimhashram Swamiji and Solur Arya Ediga Mahasamsthan Sri Reukananda Swamiji also delivered benedictory addresses on this occasion.
