Hasina wrote to Trump to extradite Mujibur's killers: Momen

Dhaka, Aug 8 (IANS): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has written a letter to US President Donald Trump extradite the killers of the country's founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Foreign Affairs Minister AK Abdul Momen said on Saturday.

Momen confirmed this IANS while returning to Dhaka after offering prayers at the tomb of the 'Bangabandhu' at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

"We hope that one more murderer of Bangabandhu will be brought back to the country and tried in 'Mujibborsho' (the year of Mujib)," the Minister added.

Meanwhile, Momen also said that four Bangladeshis were killed in the two explosions in the Beirut port earlier this week.

He said discussions were underway to bring the bodies back to Bangladesh, but currently there were no direct flights from Beirut to Dhaka.

On the directives of the Prime Minister, the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has made arrangements to send a flight with dry food including rice, biscuits, and noodles, to the Lebanese capital.
