Kolar : In Pursuit of Hidden Treasure, Man Chops off Heads of Children


Kolar, Mar 20 (PTI) : The Byappanahalli police have arrested Lakshman Reddy of Shanubhoganahalli,Kolar rural,who had murdered his two children,believing that he would be blessed with hidden treasure by sacrificing them.

After his arrest,police also learnt that three years ago,he had drowned his first child in a water tank but the relatives believed it was an accident.According to police,Lakshman Reddy believed that the black magic would bring him luck and he would become rich.

A month ago,a nomad soothsayer told Reddy that he was about to stumble on a huge hidden treasure.However,he should sacrifice his two children on an auspicious day,which would give him access to the treasure.

    This is niether ignorance, superstition nor illiteracy.Now who would kill his own children even if he were given bounties of wealth? This is ultimate greed and selfishness.
