Bengaluru, Aug 26: After a long gap, chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, has indicated that he is travelling to New Delhi. Even though the reason given is to urge the central government to extend higher assistance for flood relief, the underlying purpose is the ministry expansion or reorganization.

The CM announced within a day of party's national organization general secretary B L Santhosh, returning to New Delhi, that he too would be visiting Delhi. This visit is important on several counts.

Yediyurappa is desirous of holding discussions with union home minister Amit Shah, and party's national president J P Nadda. The CM wants to consult the leaders and then decide when to expand the ministry or also whether to reorganize it. Sources reveal that the CM will also be equipped with information on corona control and management in the state, Bengaluru riots including the roles played by SDPI, PFI etc to impress the high command.

Several ministerial aspirants are hopeful of getting their dreams realized, while migrant H Vishwanath's inclusion in the ministry still hangs in balance. The fact that Bengaluru and Belagavi have too many representatives in the ministry already will dim the chances of others there. The CM is more interested in keeping up his promise of making certain people ministers.

The CM hopes to convince some elder veterans in the party who are angry at the importance being given to migrants. He has succeeded in convincing some people who were reluctant to accept posts in corporations and boards. Before leaving for Delhi, he will try to pacify the disgruntled leaders, sources said.
