Byndoor: Boat capsizes at Maravanthe, fishermen safe

Byndoor, Aug 26: During fishing, a dinghy turned turtle at Maravanthe in the taluk on Wednesday August 26.

The dinghy titled 'Adi Anjaneya' owned by Srinivas Kharvi Gangolli, was undertaking fishing near Maraswamy temple at Maravanthe when it capsized due to huge waves.

Fishermen Rama Kharvi, Shankar Kharvi, Subhash Kharvi and Krishna Kharvi, who were in the boat at the time, swam to safety.

Two engines of the boat, net, and the boat, were damaged in the incident. When lifting the boat from its position, boat owner Srinivas Kharvi, suffered minor injuries. He is being treated in a private hospital at Kundapur.
