Kasargod, Aug 26: Addressing a district-level corona advisory committee that was held on Wednesday, DC Dr Sajith Babu via video conference said, "There is no need to furnish a pass for daily travel from the district to Karnataka henceforth."
"The regular pass system has been withdrawn. It will be sufficient to carry a negative certificate of Antigen test and registration done in Covid-19 portal. All of that has been arranged at the Talapady checkpost. The details of passengers will be entered in a Google spreadsheet,” the DC said.
"Travel to Dakshina Kannada is permitted through NH66, Talapady, Panathoor, Manimoole, Perla, Jalsoor and other important roads. Travellers are required to undergo Antigen tests and should register themselves in COVID-19 portal," stressed the deputy commissioner.
"Local groups should appoint necessary health staff at the checkposts. Those who are arriving from Karnataka via Panathoor, Manimoole, Perla, Jalsoor roads to gram panchayat limits are not required to register. The respective gram panchayat has been authorized to determine whether the travellers proceed to other places beyond panchayat borders,” he added.
DSP D Shilpa, assistant DC Arun K Vijayan, district health officer Dr A V Ramadas, district additional DC N Devidas and other department officials were present.
