Gunfight breaks out in J&K's Shopian


Srinagar, Aug 28 (IANS): A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Friday, police said.

"Encounter has started at Kiloora area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job," a police officer said.

The encounter began after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area on basis of specific information about terrorists there.

As security forces neared the spot where the terrorists were hiding, they came under a heavy fire and retaliated.
