Kasargod, Sep 3: “People arriving from foreign countries should register on  COVID-19 portal and they will have to undergo 14 days quarantine,” said deputy commissioner Dr Sajith Babu. He was speaking at the video conference of the district level coronavirus advisory committee on Thursday.

"Special initiative should be taken in the colonies of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe in the district as positive cases are reported from there. Their details should be collected from SC/ST promoters and submitted to department officials,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, a decision regarding permission for operating the Kasargod fish market is still on hold. “The market cannot be allowed to open without ensuring adherence to social distancing. Fish can be sold in the public premises of the new bus stand as per COVID regulations. There is a ground belonging to a private person in the vicinity. Take action to use the place for this purpose,” he directed the DySP.

DSP D Shilpa, additional DC N Devidas, district medical officer A V Ramadas, DySP Balakrishnan Nair P and committee members were present.
