Bengaluru: Sandalwood drug racket - CCB arrest actress Ragini Dwivedi

Bengaluru, Sep 4: The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday arrested actress Ragini Dwivedi after her involvement in the Sandalwood drug scam was revealed. "Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested and taken into custody," Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil said in a statement.

Earlier in the week, when the CCB arrested Ravishankar, a close aide of Ragini, he was subjected to intense interrogation after which he had revealed Ragini's involvement in drug dealing.

Once her role in drug racket was revealed, the CCB issued a notice to the actress to appear for questioning. However, Ragini tried to evade the notice. Following which the police raided her residence and made the arrest, where they seized phones and gadgets.

The actress was reportedly subject to several hours of interrogation, after which she was arrested.

The CCB has been conducting intense investigations over the past few days and unearthing evidence, which helped them in successfully arresting the prime accused Viren Khanna, an event manager based in Bengaluru. Khanna who is known for organising major parties and events is from Delhi. He was arrested by Central Crime Branch in Delhi.

So far, the CCB has arrested four people in connection with the Sandalwood drug racket -- Ravishankar, Rahul, Ragini Dwivedi and Viren Khanna.

Yes. In the recent assembly by election she was the star campaigner for one particular Minister. So surely she will join the powerful party as soon as she gets bail.
