Mangaluru, Sep 6: Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Peter Paul Saldanha on Sunday, September 6, blessed the newly-built Assisi Studio for recording at Jail Road, Bejai. The studio was inaugurated by Fr Dr Fr Alwyn Dias the provincial of Holy Trinity Capuchin province Karnataka. Fr Chetan, Capuchin the PRO of Udupi diocese anchored the programme.

The dignitaries present on the dais were Fr Dr Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha, Fr Alwyn Dias the provincial of Holy Trinity Capuchin province Karnataka, MLA of Mangaluru City South Vedavyasa Kamath, managing director of Daijiworld Walter Nandalike and famous music director as well as producer Ashwin Pinto. Fr Stephen D'Souza assistant manager of Assisi Press welcomed the dignitaries.

Fr Dr Peter Paul Saldanha the Bishop of Mangaluru blessed the studio and prayed for the success of the studio. Patrick Periera the famous musician along with other musician put up a instrumental musical show on this occasion, in the newly inaugurated studio. The famous ‘Tu sopnant yetai’ Konkani song composer and guest of the day Ashwin Pinto explained the speciality of Assisi Studio. The speciality of Assisi studio is that it has multitrack recording with spacious dubbing booth and includes music production facility with latest DAW software and MIDI controllers. It has industry standard mics for instruments, vocal and SFX. It also includes industry standard monitoring facility and high end audio quality with tube, pre-amps and audio interface controllers.

In his inaugural address, the bishop said, "Communication skills are very important in life. If we do not communicate we cannot unite. We cannot understand each other. Communication does not mean only getting to know each other or sharing something, but communicating with our hearts. If we learn this kind of communication we can talk with God also."

"Media plays an important role in the field of communication. Assisi Studio was also built with the intention to pave a way to communicate with each other and unite hearts. I wish all success to the management of the studio and people who will be using it in the future," he added.

MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, "I wish Assisi Studio would start more such services for people. Nowadays everyone looks for variety in the music field. This studio is meant not only for singers. As per the management, several recording facilities are also available. It is a golden opportunity for talents residing in the city who can make use of this quality platform to record their art and explore other areas. Today people want to hear positive news and feel a positive energy. The current digital world partially helps them keep positive. I request the management of Assisi Studio to keep people positive with their new venture and new projects."

Wishing success to the new venture Walter Nandalike said, "The time of coronavirus has taught us many lessons. People have learned to be generous. At the same time, they have learned to take maximum advantage of technology. Practically people even offered prayers to God through technology. I think Assisi Studio is an idea that emerged from this Covid period. I wish all the success to the studio and its management."

Fr Alwyn Dias said, "I thank all who have supported in building a new studio here in Mangaluru. Many donors, well-wishers and generous people are behind the success of this studio. We have built Assisi Studio on the principles of St Francis Assisi. We want to convey a positive message to the society through this studio. At the same time, I welcome everyone to the studio to experience the freshness of new technology."

Fr Paul Melwyn Dsouza, guardian of St Anne’s Friary in his vote of thanks said, "The designer, as well as the engineer of Assisi Studio, is Patson Periera. Patson is A grade holder in music in instruments like guitar, drums and keyboard from the Trinity College, London and also worked at Dubai as a sound engineer. He has been a music director and has played the guitar for various movies and albums. He is a music programmer, composer, sound engineer and vocalist.” Fr Paul Melwyn also announced that Patson Periera will be the sound engineer for Assisi Studio.

Fr Paul Melwyn called upon the Bishop of Mangaluru as well as the provincial of Holy Trinity province Karnataka Fr Alwyn Dias to felicitate  Patson Periera the designer as well as engineer of Assisi Studio. He also thanked Fr Prem Dsouza, the vicar of the house for looking after the studio work and all other friars of st Anne’s Friary for supporting in the great venture of building the studio.
