Bengaluru: 'Waiting for guidelines from Centre to reopen schools' - Minister Suresh Kumar

Bengaluru, Sep 10: Education minister Suresh Kumar informed that the state government is waiting for the directions of union education ministry on the reopening of school for students of ninth to 12th standard.

The minister also said that the state government has taken a step ahead and is making arrangement for dialogue between students and teachers. Only school campuses are not used for teaching. Student-teacher interaction is being seen in public places, informed the minister.

The minister also said, "Not only have ninth to 12th grades but all grades come under the Vidyagama plan. This has attracted the attention of other states. The union education ministry has taken out SOP for partial opening of schools. We are waiting for the implementation of the same."

Responding to the query whether Karnataka will take the lead in opening the classes for other grades, Suresh Kumar said, "The state government will always work as per the guidelines of central government."
