Speaking to daijiworld.com Dimple Shet said, "I feel very honoured and excited at the same time because I have always believed that good research specifically in the field of Health Science can save millions of lives. As we can see during this corona pandemic, if research work doesn't occur with efficiency on time, then the entire system is affected in the worst manner. The recognition I received by the government of Japan and the 100% scholarship and full guidance for my research have made my dreams come true. My ultimate goal in life is to save lives that are possibly lost due to a lack of research. Also, I see this opportunity to represent India in the best way possible and to make my country proud.
"There were several criteria for this award such as, academic excellence with the highest CGPA score, several rounds of interviews with all officials from Japan. All-round performance and input in social service to society."
