Mangaluru: Illegal transportation - 225 litres liquor seized, two arrested

Mangaluru, Sep 12: As per the directions of the city south subdivision assistant police commissioner, a police team of Ullal station led by its station house officer, arrested two persons accused of attempting to transport liquor illegally in a car from Thokkottu into Kerala state. As much as 225 litres of liquor contained in 26 boxes and the car used for the transpiration were seized.

The arrested people have been identified as Rejin (23) and Dheeraj (21) from Bandyodu, Mangalpady. They reportedly were transporting liquor illegally in a Maruti 800 car that was not backed by any documents. Ullal police intercepted the car at Kotekar Ajjanakatte and took the liquor and people into possession.



During their interrogation, the duo reportedly confessed that they were illegally transporting liquor from Thokkottu to Kerala.

Items worth about Rs two lac including 225 litres of liquor and a Maruti 800 white colour car were taken into possession by the police.
