Byndoor, Sep 15: After Venkataraman hillock located adjacent to the residence of Hulidevara temple at Kodachadri here on Monday, September 14 suffered a landslide, a crater with a width of about 30 feet and depth of a hundred feet was created. The residence of the priest of the said temple, Nagesh, suffered damages and its roof developed cracks.
Because of heavy rainfall since the last few days the hillock suffered a landslide which gave rise to a moat-like crater with a depth of about 100 feet. If the crater widens the temple and the priest's house are likely to face danger.
After the lockdown was lifted there has been an increase in the number of visitors to Kodachadri hill which is famous for its picturesque nature. The visitors might face danger if they are not careful enough. Priests of the temple, Nagesh Jogi and Nagendra Jogi have requested the authorities to build a protective wall to ensure that the hillock does not suffer further landslides.
