Mangaluru, Sep 15: Every year September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Divas across India. In the year 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language of the Republic of India. Since then it is celebrated as Hindi Divas every year. The staff and the students of St Agnes CBSE School Bendoor, Mangaluru celebrated Hindi Divas on September 14, in a unique way as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as the national language. The celebration began with the prayer service led by the teachers. The principal, Sr Maria Gracilda AC inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
As part of the flow of programme, Sumithra while speaking on the occasion emphasized that we should be proud of our national language and we should learn to speak it in public domain without hesitation.
Enthusiastic students of St Agnes CBSE School participated virtually in this programme and contributed through various ways to make the day a remarkable one. Anika of Grade X spoke about the significance of the day followed by a beautiful presentation of slogans in Hindi language in the form of flash cards by students of Grade VI. The students of grade VII depicted various saints like Kabir, Meerabai, Raheem etc and recited their couplets (Doha). The students of Grade VIII portrayed the famous Hindi authors and poets by narrating their biography through short video presentation. The students of Grade X danced according to the tune of the song sung by the students of Grade IX.
The programme concluded with a beautiful message.
"Mann ki bhasha, prem ki bhasha; Hindi he jann, Jann ki bhasha" (Language of the mind, language of love; Hindi language for one and all)
