Bengaluru, Sep 20: In an unusual display of rage against opposition leader Siddaramaiah, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who leads the other opposition party, the JD(S), in the state, on Sunday September 20 said that the JD(S) had nothing to learn from Siddaramaiah, who he described as an 'opportunist' and with 'chameleon-like' nature of politics.
In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy told Siddaramaiah, "JD(S) party need not learn anything from a politician like you, who has deceived his own conscience. For the sake of power, you jumped from one party to another. Now you are calling us 'opportunists'. You have shown the true colours of the chameleon nature of your politics."
Kumarswamy tweeted, "The whole of Karnataka knows what kind of selfish politician you are. You do not have the morality to speak about the patriotic politics of former PM Deve Gowda."
"Siddaramaiah, who jumped from JD (S) to Congress for the greed of power has shown his true colour. Our party need not learn from ungrateful Siddaramaiah, who relished the postion and posts when he was in the JD (S) party and later joined Congress in order to get more opportunities of power.
"Your self-respect is like cow faced tiger. When you were CM in the Congress party itself, you had publicly said that Congress party should be decimated from grass root. This shows your selfishness.
"Deve Gowda gave up the position of prime minister of the country due to self-respect. He could have continued as PM, had he wanted to cling to the power. Did you forget the selfless politics of Deve Gowda so soon? JD (S) need not learn anything from the politician, who has deceived his own conscience.
"Whenever JD (S) party was in power, it has reciprocated to the difficulties and issues faced by commoners honestly. It has never showed the ego and high-headedness of power. During the short stint in power also JD (S) gave priority to the welfare of the people of the state. People who had followed you are suffering because of your selfish attitude. Everyone knows how you backstabbed people in order for you to grow politically. Who can tolerate your selfish teaching?"
