Muscat, Apr 10: This gala function will be held on Friday, the 16th of April, 2010 at Ramee Dream Resort’s Ball Room[Seeb]. Lot of exciting events and activities for the day has been planned. NPA Events – one of the most professional event management company will be taking care of this event. Not to mention a lavish spread of scrumptious breakfast, a fabulous lunch buffet, and closing with a refreshing high tea towards the evening.
Scholarships: To encourage children to excel further in their studies and to reward their achievements, we would be offering scholarships to 2 outstanding children having the highest percentage of marks in their classes 7th, 8th and 9th [March 2010].
Recognitions: Students, who have been recognized, by any institution, organization or school, for their achievements other than Academies, can share your recognition with us. This is indeed a matter of great pride and joy for the entire community.
Website : One of the key highlights of our Annual Day functions will be launching of the website to reach out to each one of community members within Oman, and outside of the Sultanate who can keep in touch with members and various other activities effectively.
Performance & Fashion walk : Childrens will be presenting the summer collection walk, Specialised dance’s comprising of unity will also be performed along with other entertainment dances and ballets.
Koti Chennaya Yakshagana : keeping with vibrant traditions and in the true spirits of community Tulu Yakshagana “Koti Chennaya” will be performed by the well known troupe of artists from Mangalore, who will be flown in especially for this event.
The Oman Billawas focus is not only on bringing the community in Oman together but also with the purpose to protect, preserve and promote Tulunadu’s ethnic and socio-cultural heritage, to promote and celebrate festivals, and to provide personal assistance to the needy and deserving.
On 16th April 2010, Oman Billawas will see families and friends coming from Muscat, Barka, Sohar, Nizwa and other places to celebrate its First Anniversary and the Annual Day.
The six founding members of Oman Billawas are spearheaded by Mr. Pithamber B. Alke who has been a keen activist in serving the Billawa community back in India for decades. The other five member team comprises Mr. S.K. Poojari, Mr. Ashok Suvarna, Mr. Arun Sanil, Mr. Umesh Bantwal and Dr. Anchan C.K. These members are astute and well-known in their own respective fields and have been playing a vital role towards the development of the Billawa and Tulu community in the Sultanate of Oman.
