Udupi, Sep 29: Sri Krishna Math that had remained closed for the general public for the last six months was opened in the afternoon of Monday September 28. Thousands of people lined up to bow before the deity and get a sense of elation and fulfillment.

A separate path has been created to have the Darshan of Lord Krishna. Paryaya Admar Sri Ishapriya Teertha Swamij, Admar senior Swamiji, Sri Vishwapriya Teertha, Palimar Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji, Pejawar Sri Vishwaplrasanna Teertha Swamiji, and Kaniyoor Sri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji together dedicated the path to the world after which Admar Swamiji delivered benedictory address.

As advised in advance, devotees were allowed to visit the Math from 2 pm to 5 pm. The devotees were allowed in after thermal scanning and using sanitisers. However, there was no distribution of Prasadam, provision for special puja or community feast. Sources in the Math said that these services will be started in future after satisfying all norms.

In spite of Karnataka bandh, thousands of devotees stuck to social distancing rules and paid their respects to the presiding deity of the Math. Paryaya Admar Sri Ishapriya Teertha Swamiji had expressed his desire to ensure that the oil being poured into the temple lamp by the devotees should not be contaminated. Therefore, the devotees have been told that they can either bring sesame seeds from their homes and hand the same over at the Math to enable the authorities to extract oil from the seeds, or to buy the seeds at the Math counter and hand it over at the Math. The Math authorities plan to give the seeds so collected to the mill and get pure oil from there. Symbolically, Admar Sri Vishwapriya Teertha Swamij, Palimar Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swmiji, Pejawar Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji and Kaniyoor Sri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji handed over sesame seeds to paryaya Sri Ishapriya Teertha Swamiji.
