Mangaluru, Sep 29: Mangaluru (north) MLA Dr Bharath Shetty Y, who paid a surprise visit to the taluk office here on Monday September 28, reproached the officials for keeping work pending and causing lot of inconveniences to the common people.

He verified the records and charged the officials of harassing the people by not issuing documents to them promptly. "I have been getting lot of complaints. Either you get work done by the staff or dismiss them," he told tahsildar Guruprasad.

The MLA said that 15 people have been on protest demonstration at his office and wanted to know why the staff at the office is making poor people to wait for months together. He wanted to know reasons for keeping the files pending. He warned that if there are no justifiable reasons, he will write to the department directing them to take action against the guilty.

He noted that there are four persons in the record room, and the office has officers who have sufficient experience here. He asked them to give reasons for not attending to work. "If you are unable to attend to work for months together, or if you are unable to set the old records straight, you have to provide valid reasons. If this attitude is continued, you will face legal measures," he warned the staff. The legislator also visited the marriage registrar's office in the Mini Vidhana Soudha and land records room.

Work will be done for those who pay the money under the table which should be stopped. Bring strict disciplinary action in every section of our country. In every field we see unfairness and disorder. There should be equality and fairness in every job. Otherwise either we nor the country will change. Only the names of the roads will change :) Bring change in the people.
