Bengaluru: 'Schools, colleges reopening not on cards’ - Education minister Suresh Kumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 30: State education minister S Suresh Kumar, has clarified that the government is not contemplating the issue of reopening colleges and schools in near future.

"As coronavirus infection is spreading, we have not taken any decision on the reopening of educational institutions. Interaction is planned with the heads of all the teachers unions on September 30. I will also exchange information and ideas with educationists on October 5. I have already been getting opinions of parents through emails," he explained.

Kumar informed that he has already written to the MLAs and MPs, seeking their opinion in the matter. "If schools and colleges are to be opened in their opinion, I have asked them as to which classes can be opened on which dates and also what kind of cooperation and support can be expected from the community,” he said.

It is highly risky to open colleges and schools in Karnataka looking to number of Covid-19 cases. Education can wait until situation improves. Being a doctor myself can, I know how difficult to wear mask for 7 hours duty. Can't expect students to wear mask for long time. It will be highly dangerous step to open schools and colleges in karnataka. Better to wait.

    Respected sir,
As the number of cases has been increasingly rapidly. It's not a good decision to open the schools so soon. As this will not make a much difference to the normal students, but it will cause problems to people in house and students having breathing problems like asthama. The education can be done later but playing with lives isn't really a good choice. Students will be the major reason behind the spread of the virus and lead to more problems.
It's a humble request to keep the schools closed for 1 more month and further take decision depending on how the condition is .
    Thank you

    @ Sachin & Anonymous
Come out of your ponds & media created fake pandemic first, according to you all the (500) doctors who have come out to expose this hoax in US are delusional?
Are the data released by US- CDC is fake which gives the mortality rate as only 0.004% ?
Are the figures or data in Sweden fake?
Just because our fake media who got paid by Bill Gates along with WHO funded by him joining with deceitful China doesn't give the real truth, all are fools who know the truth?
Just because Google, Youtube, Twitter & FB invested money into vaccines who never want people to know the truth & delete & censor those experts & doctors videos we have to remain ignorant?
Get the facts first- the test itself is false, only those people who have read my previous comments where I have given those doctors detailed explanations which prove the test finds RNA pieces of any virus doesn't prove it is from corona. There are 120000 viruses, & till today no corona virus has been isolated. Again Exosomes produced by our immune system against any infections has same picture we see daily as corona & same RNA too.
Coming to deaths nobody has proved corona killed anybody, but only with corona is their line, probably those people who claim about deaths have forgotten all deaths are certified to inflate the numbers as covid. Just get the past data of deaths of a few years & compare them to this year no jump can be seen.
I only comment here to expose Hoax, you can take it or leave it, but after a few years the majority of people who are mislead by our fake media will realize what a ride the whole world was taken for, but too late it will be, India again will become colonized by foreign manipulators soon if we don't wake up.
Thanks to Daiji for letting people like me comment here.

If Covid is a hoax why there is shortage of ICU and medical oxygen all of a sudden ? This is not just in India but across the world. There will be always be conspiracy theories or alternative narrative that will be propagated by vested interests. Let's make a informed choice and protect ourselves.

Reality check proved not only in India but all over the world no beds or no ventilators itself was a lie, Recently a video by a journalist exposed the same in New Delhi too. there were beds but common people are turned away as they cannot make money from them.
Most doctors & nurses had no jobs as they were sent home & the hospitals started to fleece money to make up for the lost revenue through false positive tests even when the result was negative.

As a College faculty my opinion is urban & sub-urban educational institutions should not yet open for Offline classes. Rural area institutes Should open up for Offline classes by Oct' unless those is in containment zone. But even for urban & sub urban conducting final year exams should be priority before Nov', after which training for teaching faculties for Online curriculum & teaching materials should be done from University & Board levels. Only after significant slowdown of covid cases is seen should Offline classes in a phased manner be implemented. That too Bengaluru Urban should be among last to allow Offline classes.

Atleast you can strat the offline classes for the courses of which the students are not promoted to next sem like paramedical colleges. They are stuck between semesters. Do something about it.the colleges are asking fee amount also. They're paying fees sitting at the home they''re not getting promoted also. How it feels to pay lakhs together simply sitting at home without having any work. You should think about it

Good decision, but make a uniform rule for all colleges many PU Colleges run by powerful people already started classes in spite of govt restrictions. This is creating imbalance & injustice to others. Even many Engg colleges admitted students under Management quota in a hurry and started classes though CET admission process not even started.

Playing safe or defensive technique to play for a draw in cricket term.
Minister doesn't want to get the blame if covid numbers get higher,
The sort of indecision the present govt., is going through is hurting the economy, the future of our education system & kids as a collateral.
Minister should come out of the present shell he is in & see what other countries like Sweden did to get a clear picture & take a firm decision. Those countries that didn't impose any lock down or shut their economy & schools shows kids never got infected or took it to their homes, Same way no teachers gave it to students or got it from students.
Time to put this pandemic hoax into its right place & stop testing which itself is causing the panic & fear about a virus that we all have got infected with in the past as cold bouts thereby giving us the cross protection from present form of corona too.

Man if you call this Pandemic as a hoax, then you should also say death due to COVID and shortage of ICU/Ventilator and medical Oxygen as a hoax as well. Why there is shortage of these essential services if there was no Pandemic ? It is this attitude because of which people don't wear masks and put everyone at risk. The Pandemic is real and we should follow all precautions to protect ourselves and other citizens from it.

Dev, in Uae many schools shut down because of cases within schools. They were ready for physical classes but it dint work well for few schools. And if you call this covid pandemic a hoax , even after seeing people die , then your just delusional and crazy . I hope you view thingd clearly and better. Moreover you need to understand , its completely up to the parents to send them to schools only if they feel that its fine in sending their kids and its safe. Either you nor the govt can force upon someone. Its a tough time so we need fo adjust to the new environment temporarily.

sir, it might be tough and hard , i do understand, but there are many people have difficulty with the devices or dont have any means to online education. Im a student myself and i have a phone , laptop and a strong network connection but its difficult. But im trynna make complete use of all the facilities that i have . You might have all facilities , but dor the time being try to adjust to this new and different world which will not last very long and will subside one day. However some kids who dont have access to online education must have acess through alternative methods by the govt or education council . If they are so keen on opening schools , they should give them options of either physical classes or online classes without compelling the kids and the parents.

I feel this is a good decision. Once there is a vaccine and pandemic is under control there is no issues to reopen schools. Where online classes are working fine it should be continued. For rest, they can think of reducing the syllabus or subjects for one year. Health of children and teachers is more important. It is impossible to reopen schools when our parliament sessions itself was curtailed.

If children loose one academic year it doesnt hurt. This year is already one big year of learning for our kids and us put together. But govt. should help the schools for compensating teachers salaries
