Mangaluru: MCC slaps fine on people not wearing face masks

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 30: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has started the operation of slapping a fine of Rs 200 on people who do not wear face masks at public places and also vendors who do business without wearing face masks.

MCC officials have started the process under the instructions of Mayor Divakar. Even those who ride bikes and drive cars without wearing mask are taken to task.

A team of health officials led by commissioner of MCC and health officer Dr Manjaiah Shetty were slapping fine to the violators on Wednesday September 30.

The commissioner of MCC said that the intention of MCC is not slapping fine on the public but to create awareness among the public in the wake of the increasing cases of coronavirus infection. No one should come in public place without wearing a mask,” he said.

This BJP led corporation of mlore is fit for nothing only fit to change the names of the roads and circles and imposing fines on ppl.
They keep on telling wearing masks we can reduce covid cases, did the cases reduced. It is absolutely foolish.
Wearing mask will block the circulation of fresh oxygen (o2) which is very important for blood purification and the functioning of brain cells. By wearing mask we will inhale carbon dioxide (co2) which is exhale after complete breathing cycle.
Once corona news is stopped, ppl will start to complaint regarding the brain and head related problem.
Mask is only temporary remedy, but compulsory forcing it is of no use.

    Great achievement from our MCC.

So far no vegetable market ,no Fish market,

no Proper bus stand, no good roads, instead of giving importance to these basic needs,

simply roaming around in the city to pass time. Why Mayor should go out.??

Send officials for this silly job. Fix Rs 10000 instead of Rs 200, automatically citizens will start wearing mask.

Slapping fine on people not wearing masks in cars is uncalled for. For people wearing spectacles it creates fog which makes it difficult to see. Also if windows of the car are closed, then there is no need for wearing mask. When would MCC use some commonsense instead of just blindly following orders??
Instead of all these activities just to garner attention, MCC should check how many people are following social distancing rules. Do buses follow them? is proper sanitization of public transportation done? Do cooks in hotels wear masks? Do people wear masks in religious places? In most of municipality and government officials photos shown in media most of them are not wearing masks properly. Even politicians are wearing mask on their chin...
Because of this brainless act we can see most of people wear mask in public places but less than 5% are wearing it in the correct manner. So the impact of safety of MCCs above action is a big zero.
Request MCC to concentrate on educating public how to wear masks properly rather than all this drama.

    Excellent job. Keep it up.
People in Wuhan China are free from coronavirus, just because authority were very strict in starting days with mask and social distance. This is only way until vaccine is discovered.
MCC pls see malls, people inside freely roaming with out mask. Fine the owners of shops for allowing such carelessness
