Bengaluru, Sep 30: With Karnataka, especially the state capital of Bengaluru, emerging as the major centres for COVID-19 positive cases and deaths in the country, Karnataka’s medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar said the state government has maintained transparency in presenting facts and figures related to the pandemic.

Responding to Congress leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah’s allegations of underreporting of COVID-19 related deaths in Kolar, he tweeted that there were three deaths in R L Jalappa Hospital on September 19 in Kolar.

As there was a delay in reporting the death by the hospital, it was reported on September 24.

The death that occurred on September 20 too was reported due to the same reason on September 25, he clarified.

The state government is not suppressing any information on about COVID-19 and has no need to do so, the minister asserted.
