Bengaluru, Oct 1: HAL’s helicopter complex got a new chief executive officer with S Anbuvelan assuming charge on Thursday.
Prior to elevation as the CEO, he headed the helicopter division as executive director.
“My focus will be to ensure quality products and services and timely delivery from the helicopter complex," said Anbuvelan after taking the charge.
Anbuvelan did his graduation in mechanical engineering from Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and holds a Post Graduate degree of MTech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT Madras. He also holds Post Graduate diploma in Business Management from XIME, Bengaluru.
He joined HAL as a management trainee (technical) in 1986 and has experience of 34 years in various key positions.
Some of the highlights of Anbuvelan’s career so far include: Productionising ALH’s integrated transmission assembly, ramping up production of Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) gearboxes, reduction of snags during equipping of ALH, training, and development of employees, quality improvements in Reconnaissance and Observation Helicopter (ROH) of Cheetah and Chetak helicopters at Barrackpore.
He also streamlined ALH production and implementation of the latest technologies in the field of manufacturing and assembly of helicopter products.
