Indian Composer Wants to Open Music School in Malaysia


Kuala Lumpur, Apr 14 (IANS): Popular south Indian composer Vijay Anthony wants to open a music college in Malaysia to train budding musicians.

Anthony was speaking to reporters after meeting students of the Winfield International College here Tuesday.

Vijay is in Malaysia to promote a Malaysia unity cultural concert, which will be held here April 24, Tamil daily Makkal Osai reported.

His compositions for two Tamil films - 'Ninaithale Innikum' and 'Vettaikaran' - were huge hits among Malaysian fans. He has also acted in 'Naan', which will be released soon.

Tamils form the bulk of the ethnic Indian community in Malaysia.
