Smriti: Yogi will do justice in Hathras case, Rahul is just playing politics

Varanasi, October 3 (IANS): During a visit to Varanasi on Saturday, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani described the incident in Hathras as painful. "Chief Minister Yogi will do justice in this matter. But Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka going to Hathras is just playing politics."

Irani says she is confident that the Uttar Pradesh CM will carry out justice in this case. "I have also spoken on the phone with the Chief Minister on this matter."

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, "His attempted journey to Hathras is just playing politics. People of the country and the state understand this. They should go to Rajasthan and take the initiative to bring justice to the victim's family there, but they are trying to come to Hathras again and again for the sake of votes."

Elaborating on the incident in Hathras she said, "I do not interfere in the affairs of any state because of constitutional decorum. But I have spoken to Yogi Adityanath on the Hathras case. The Chief Minister has formed the SIT. Action has already been taken against the SP and others on the preliminary report yesterday. Let the SIT report come. After that Yogi Adityanath will take stern action against those who have interfered with the investigation or those who have conspired to deny justice to the victim."

The Union Minister further said, "Rahul Gandhi has always strived to do politics, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been successful in the realm of national policies. I think the people have understood the tactics of the Congress very well. If any leader wants to do politics on any subject, I cannot stop him, but the public understands that the journey to Hathras is for the sake of Rahul's own politics and not to deliver justice to the victim."

Samajwadi Party and Congress women activists protested outside the Circuit House in Varanasi about the Hathras case. BJP MLA Saurabh Srivastava came out and tried to assuage the activists. But the protests continued.

Meanwhile, Irani also spoke to the activists at the Circuit House.

    Really ridiculous woman, who uses her sad acting g skills from her soap drama, daughters of India are really scared. When govt said beti bachao it was not a slogan, it was a warning. Beware this ruthless govt. People have become poorer, sicker, more prone to harm but still blindly support this govt. Really shameful

    Smiriti is big black mole on the face of BJPeee who has a habit of acting in real life and memorizing the dialogue written by others. Her monologue in Parliament is appreciated as she got a strong training background of TV serials.

    Yogi or She who they are merely representative of people and they are not their own as KING or QUEEN of this country. Ignorance might not be blessing all the time.

    Definitely Rahul do his business as you used to earlier days when you are in opposition and made so many jibes which was irrelevant to the subject.

    “Every day is a day for Women, who are the focal point of our society. We should celebrate them throughout the year”.... These were the words of Ms. Smriti Irani who underlined the importance of every day in the life of a woman. And the same person took more than 2 weeks to open her mouth on the Hathras incident and says that it is painful. Really shameful on her part.

    She states that Yogi will give justice to the victim’s family. What justice one can expect from Yogi, who has used all the official machinery to muzzle the voice of the victim’s family and even the media. We have seen videos wherein officials were coercing stating that “They (Media) will go, we will remain”. Also media people were not allowed and PR Company called “Concepts PR” was engaged for press releases, who will convey only what the Government wanted to. In these situations, what justice will be done, everyone knows except transferring / suspending few officers. No wonder as per the NCRB statistics, UP is having the highest atrocities on women.

    Whenever Rahul Gandhi takes up any issue, Smriti talks about Rahul playing politics. We have seen her melodrama in the Parliament during the Rohith Vemula case, promising justice, and then later burying the case stating he is not a “Dalit”. Also her counterpart from the same state Maneka Gandhi was vehement on the elephant death 2000 kms away from Pilibhit but silent about the human death which is 200 kms from her constituency. For Smriti is this not politics?

    Shameful melodrama... Let her limit her acting skills to the TV serials.... In politics, people are slowly but surely realising her acting and folly of having elected these fakes.

    Rape is barbaric..but what Congress Rahul Priyanka doing is just nautanki keeping in mind election..Rahul is MP from kerala. just a month ago two rapes, few week back a covid patient raped....what about Rajastan..what about Delhi..how can these darmabazis cheery pick n protest..in Rjastan their own Govt..it ridiculous even MAMATA protesting..look at rape cases in her state!!...these fake protest has dangerous side effect..political hired goondas may do it for election gain n again..

    Rape and murders are happening all over India since 2014 but why are you quiet and not protesting. Are you feeling guilty??????????.....If opposition is protesting and seeking justice for the victim then it is confirmed that ruling party is involved in this heinous crime. Rapists cum murderers from non-BJP ruled states been arrested and brought to books.

    In Rajasthan too your own BJP people are involved in rape and murder. In fact culprits are ex-district BJP chief of Mahila Morcha belongs to your women and child development ministry. No wonder no word of condemnation by Modi, Shah and Kovid nor any protests, bundhs, burning offices, burning effigies, chaos and no filing fabricated FIR by BJP. Now who is giving justice to the victim since President Kovid has the final word in this case justice has to be for the accused.

    Hello, Where were you hiding all these days? Even one not a word of comdemnation of the horrendous and dastardly crime committed. "Painful" is how she has described the act. I wonder which part of her party has pained. Does she realise how painful it must have been for the teenager when her tongue was cut off? Does she realise how painful it must have been for the victim's family members when her body was disposed off without their knowledge. This drama queen should understand that suspending the SP and a few policemen doesn't amount to taking tangible action. Bigger heads should have rolled by now. Like her boss, she must now understand that the people of this country have started to realise their mistake of electing this government. This eye wash won't do, Mrs. inister. Condign punishment should be given to the culprits. It doesn't matter if their fathers are close to Yogi.
