Mangaluru: DC permits Dasara festival celebrations adhering to corona guidelines

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra through a press release has given the permission to celebrate Dasara festival strictly adhering to corona guidelines.

While traditional Sharada idol can be installed, open cultural programmes are not permitted. Teams in tiger costumes are forbidden but cultural programmes are permitted to be performed inside the premises of the temple.

Chairs in the temple should be arranged maintaining social distance. The programme can be telecasted live. Large size shamiyana or pandals are not allowed. Processions or fairs are not permitted. Crackers will not be permitted.

The decision was taken in the fifth meeting of the third district religious council, stated deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra.
