Biman B'desh inaugurates Sylhet-London route


Dhaka, Oct 4 (IANS): Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Sunday inaugurated the new Sylhet-London-Sylhet route.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali inaugurated the flight, which is set to start operating direct flights from Sylhet to London, reports The Daily Star newspaper.

The Biman flight carrying 232 passengers took off from Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 11.15 a.m., according to the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry.

A huge number of Bangladeshi expats residing in the UK are from Sylhet, making the route an important one for the flag carrier.
