Mangaluru, Oct 10: Sparkle Productions officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Konkani film, ‘Tuje Vinem’, during an event held at Sandesha Hall, Mangaluru, on Friday, October 9.
The title launch was graced by Stany Alvares, president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, alongside actress and Academy member Sapna Crasta, producer George D’Souza, producer Flavia Mascarenhas, lead actress Dr Jasmine D’Souza, and the film’s writer and director, Godwin Sparkle.
Introducing the project, writer-director Godwin Sparkle shared that 'Tuje Vinem' marks his second directorial venture in Konkani cinema, crafted around a meaningful social theme. Originally conceived as an album song, the concept evolved into a full-length feature designed as a clean family entertainer appealing to all age groups, exploring relationships between partners, parents, and friends.
He noted that major filming is complete, dubbing is currently underway, and requested the global Konkani community’s encouragement ahead of the theatrical release.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Stany Alvares highlighted the importance of audience patronage for regional cinema. He observed that while talented young creators are actively entering the Konkani film industry, low turnout and premature negative reactions often pose significant hurdles. He urged the audience to champion local talent and wished Godwin and the team success.
Sapna Crasta commended the growing momentum of back-to-back releases in Konkani cinema and expressed confidence that 'Tuje Vinem' will resonate strongly with viewers. Producer George D’Souza extended his gratitude to the cast and crew, emphasising that collective teamwork brought the large-scale project close to the finish line.
The evening concluded with musical performances by Rony Crasta, who entertained the gathering with several Konkani songs. Roshan Menezes Kamath compered the event.
'Tuje Vinem' is produced under the banner of Sparkle Productions by George D’Souza and Hilda D’Souza (Vamanjoor), with Glester D’Souza and Priya D’Souza serving as co-producers. The film is written and directed by Godwin Sparkle, starring Dr Jasmine D’Souza in the lead role, with Roshan Menezes Kamath serving as executive producer.
