Udupi, Oct 4: Chief executive officer (CEO) of Udupi zilla panchayat Preeti Gehlot has been transferred and Dr Naveen Bhat Y has been appointed in her place.
The order was issued by the state government on Sunday October 4.
Preeti Gehlot had taken charge as ZP CEO in September 2019.
A native of Bantwal, Dr Naveen Bhat Y is currently serving as assistant commissioner of Hassan sub-division.
Dr Bhat had secured the 37th rank in All India UPSC civil services examinations held in 2016.
He completed his primary education in Rotary English Medium School at Moodbidri, before continuing the same at Infant Jesus English Medium School at Modankap in Bantwal taluk. He completed high school and PU studies from Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva high school and PU college at Alike.
He is also a doctor who had topped the state in common entrance test (CET) in 2009, and went on to complete his MBBS course from Bangalore Medical College.
