Kundapur: Protests carried out against privatisation of power distribution companies

Kundapur, Oct 5: Symbolic protests wearing black badges were held in the leadership of Kundapur local committee and associates of Federation of Karnataka Electricity Employees Union and Associates opposing privatization of their services.

Udupi circle employees union secretary Babanna poojary said that there is no benefit to employees and ordinary people, farmers by privatization. They will have to bear additional burden, he said. Divisional executive engineer Rakesh said the hard work of employees and unity is necessary to protect the company.



Local committee president Raghavendra M said, "The subsidies available to consumers so far will stop. There is no doubt that the electricity rates will rise under one nation one tariff policy. Farmers will not get electricity subsidies. There is no doubt that it will be a burden for ordinary people,” he said.

Taluk division assistant executive engineer Vinayaka Kamath, Kundapur sub division assistant executive engineer Ashok Poojary, Shankaranarayana sub division assistant executive engineer Yashwanth, division accountants Annayya Shettigar, local committee secretary Abhilash B A, other division officials and employees were present.
