Mangaluru: MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharat Shetty call for ending illegal cattle theft

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Oct 7: Mangaluru MLAs Dr Bharath Y Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath have voiced strong opinions against the illegal cattle trade that is rampant in the district. Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty has asked the police department to take suitable action against illegal transport of cattle that is in progress and the illegal slaughterhouses that function in the district.

“Theft of cattle brandishing deadly weapons, transporting of cattle left for grazing on roadsides, the violent slaughter of cattle set free and other incidents have occurred repeatedly. Stealing cows of people who depend only on dairy farming is like snatching their livelihood,” said MLA Bharath Shetty.

Vedavyasa

“Police department should take legal action without fail. If that does not happen, BJP party organizations that are for the protection of cattle and other similar groups will come on to the roads to protest," he warned.

Speaking on the matter, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, “There is unrest in Dakshina Kannada due to the illegal cattle trade. Cows are revered in the Hindu religion. Besides that, there are many families in the district that depend on dairy farming. We have seen families lose their livelihood following the theft of their cattle. There should not be disturbances in the district again regarding this matter. The peace of the people should not be disrupted. Therefore, the police department should immediately form teams to act against illegal cattle transporters and illegal slaughterhouses."

“A network of thieves entering temples, threatening people and stealing cattle from temple premises is active in the district. In this circumstance, the police department should get down to action to arrest cattle thieves and maintain law and order,” he said to the officials.

In fact, we must ban killing of all animals.

Reason 1: all animals have the right to live. Humans have no right to take away the life of other animals.

Reason 2: Lord Vishnu's dashavatara's include Varaha, Matsya, Kurma. Is it not an offence to kill and eat something that is one of the Avatar's?

Reason 3: Mesha happens to be the name of one Rashi. Should we not hold the goat/sheep sacred, if we are true to Vedas?

Let us all turn vegans. Good for our own self and for the animal kingdom.

The bjp knows beef has got a lot of power to play politics. Beef politics will never go out of trend. Now that there is not much going on, and that all the bjp misdeeds are coming to picture, they now need to start shaking the society. The bhakths will poince on you if you speak about bjp corruption. They wont spare even Nehru. But they wont answer a simple question. Why arent the bjp govt not stopping beef export

Pilfering cattle, grazing peacefully from fields and in cow sheds, were relatively unheard, a few decades ago !!! Today the serene, peaceful oasis of tranquility, has been forever, irrevocably destroyed, due to massive demographic changes, in the entire coastal belt of Karnataka !!!!! The state government must rise from the deep slumber and viciously prosecute these criminal lawbreakers in our society !!!!

"....if that does not happen, BJP party organizations that are for the protection of cattle and other similar groups will come on to the roads to protest," ..Against whom they are protesting? Earlier they laid the blame on Congress government and accused the two Muslim MLA's of the coastal region of shielding the culprits. Now who is shielding them? Cow thefts are happening because the cow thieves are coming out on bail easily and into same business again. This goes on repeating. It's your government's failure and no use of targeting a particular community for your failures

You may be a vegetarian, you may be eating just a few non-veg items but you can't force people to stop eating something that they have been for ages. Earlier there was a system of releasing aged cattle which, because of your fake love, now stopped coming to market and this is the exact reason for cow thefts.

No, I don't agree with stealing cows but when there is a short supply, anybody steals from his neighbor's garden. You should understand this and let the society continue functioning. If you are changing one step in a cycle, you should provide an alternative. Give them mutton for Rs. 50/- to 100/- a Kg. Nobody will go for Beef. I bet that.

Your drama of cow love is just for face show. When passing on highways after 3 pm, we see dozens of cows grazing on the main roads. Where did they come from ? Nowhere else than Gau-Shaalas, let lose after milking them. Please people, take care of your so-called motherly animals, don't leave them on roads to be killed or to block traffic or to be stolen.

Arre, if you guys are speaking so much Gandhi corruption, i wonder why even one of them aren't in the jail even afyer so many years of bjp rule ?? No point in arguing with the blinded bhakths. Because there may be an eye donor, bit one cannnot open the subconscious, self respect eye.
