Bengaluru, Oct 8: American multinational online retail trading giant, Amazon, got its Bengaluru Amazon Fulfilment Centre formally inaugurated by chief minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The chief minister, who addressed the inaugural function through video conferencing, expressed his happiness that Amazon India Ltd was expanding its activities in the state by opening its Bengaluru centre by enlisting over 3,300 retail sellers and provide them national marketing platform.
He urged Amazon India Ltd to give importance to promoting Karnataka’s handicrafts products.
Amazon India Ltd vice president Chetan Krishnaswamy explained that Amazon.in invests in creating specialized infrastructure and has already established nine fulfilment centres in the country along with 33 delivery stations to support the growth of large appliance and furniture categories.
Amazon India has established fulfilment centres in Karnataka, Haryana, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
In preparation for heightened demand this summer, Amazon.in has also increased its selection by over 3,000 products in the Large Appliances category consisting of air conditioners, air coolers, refrigerators, washing machines and TVs. The infrastructure will also serve the Furniture category with over 400 number of products.
Apart from offering cash on delivery and buyback options, as additional services the online marketplace will provide installation services for customers, across top 6 cities of Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune and offering a seamless shopping experience.
Through this Fulfilment Centre with state-of-the-art infrastructure, Amazon.in will provide a delightful customer experience through Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA). When using FBA, sellers across India send their products to Amazon’s FCs and once an order is placed, Amazon picks, packs and ships the order to the customer, provides customer service and manages returns on behalf of the sellers.
Consumers on www.amazon.in and the Amazon mobile shopping app have easy and convenient access to 100 million products across hundreds of categories. They can also enjoy Amazon.in’s guaranteed next-day, two-day delivery, Sunday and Morning delivery on products fulfilled by Amazon.
