Mangaluru: 'Failure to wear masks in public places will attract fine' - DC KV Rajendra

Mangaluru, Oct 8: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has reiterated that wearing of masks is mandatory in all the public places and workplaces in the district.

In a press release, the DC stressed that those who do not wear masks will be fined Rs 250 in the corporation limits and Rs 100 in other places in the district.

The Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner directed officials to book violators under Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Ordinance 2020 Section 2(3), 6(1)(2) and Section 57 of the Disaster Management Act 2005. The officials have been asked to strictly enforce the government orders in this connection.

    The initiative of the Government is to protect people and it is imperative that people follow the norms and ensure safety from the prevailing situation.

    Kudos to Mr. Rajendra on his initiative to impose fine on the defaulters.
