Dubai : Famad Pernal's 'Rang Tarang' to Feature Singer Dr Prashanth Raj

Dubai, Apr 18: FAMAD Pernal is back again with yet another mega entertainer. After the landmark success of ‘Rang Tarang’ on May 1 last year, ‘Rang Tarang 2010’ will be another colourful musical entertainer of the year.
Last year it was the local talents who entertained a packed audience at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai. This year, it will be the melody and brilliance of one of Konkani’s accomplished singers of late: Dr Prashanth Raj who will perform at the unique live in concert show.

This is Dr Prashanth Raj's maiden performance in the U.A.E.
This year’s event will be held on Friday, May 7 at the Emirates Theatre, Exit Number 41, Sheikh Zayed Road, Jumeira 2, Dubai. Gates open at 4.00pm and show starts at 4.30pm.
The other attraction of the day will be a Konkani Antakshari competition, a musical war between four finalist couples. This too will definitely be most thrilling and entertaining event of the evening.
‘Rang Tarang 2010’ will be a pure entertainer with importance to quality and technicality, organizers say. Of late, FAMAD Pernal has gained fame and reputation for hosting innovative and quality entertainers.
Dony Correa and Asha Correa, the talented couple will compere the event. Arun Carlo, Kethan D’Souza, Vincent Rodrigues and others will provide music.

Dr Prashanth Raj is an accomplished singer in Konkani music. This singer is well known for his soothing voice. Dr Prashanth is a trained classical singer as well, rendering his voice to almost every album. Most of his songs have become hits.

Training and career:
Since his childhood days, taking active part in many Inter Parish, Inter School, Inter Collegiate District Level, State Level, National Level Competitions in Eastern Music and Hindustani vocals and bagged many prizes. He has maximum 1st Prizes among his collection of trophies.
He has started his singing career at a very young age of 7 years singing in Paradela Nites. He bagged 1st prize for 3 consecutive years making a Hat-trick in Inter Parish Singing Competition for Solo singing a few years back. He is a 6th sibling of 7 children to his parents and is much inspired and supported by his parents and family members where many of them are musicians.
He did his schooling and college at St Aloysius Mangalore and medical profession at Medical College Bellary. Also he studied Hindustani vocal singing at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan under Guru Sri Kamalakar Shet Gangolli. When he was studying in medical college at Bellary, he was known for the Medichestra-a musical orchestra organised by him for every year for the college day at medical college, where he along with singing, played key board for the whole orchestra as he loves and very good in playing the Keyboard
He is married to Dr Reetha Sudha Mascarenhas, a physician who is also a singer and Settled in Mangalore running his own clinic at Vamanjoor.
