Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 10 (IANS): Following the rejection by a court here of their anticipatory bail pleas in connection with a YouTuber assault case, three women 'activists' including dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi, are on the 'run' after the police moved to arrest them.

While Bhagyalakshmi had publicly stated after the incident that she does not fear going to jail, but soon after the court rejected their anticipatory bail pleas, all the three went into hiding.

The mobile phones of the three have also gone silent.

What came as a setback for the three was the court coming down heavily on them. Last month they had barged into YouTuber Vijay B.Nair's room after he allegedly made derogatory remarks against them on social media.

They doused him with oil and Bhagyalakshmi was seen beating him. He was made to apologise for his remarks about women.

The entire incident with Bhagyalakshmi, Diya Sana and Sreelakshmi Arackal was captured on video by one of the women and was later uploaded.

While Nair was later arrested, he also filed a complaint against the three women.

Following the complaint being registered the three activists approached the court here for anticipatory bail.

Disposing off the petition, the court said one cannot take the law into their hands by using force and the behaviour of the three was not acceptable. The court denied their prayer for anticipatory bail.

The prosecution also strongly opposed the bail plea and said that no one can take the law into their hands.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that new laws would be framed for strong action against those who abuse women on social media.
