Kundapur: Conman dupes NRI of Rs 20 lac with false claim of business partnership

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (MS/HB)

Kundapur, Oct 11: An NRI has accused three people of conning him into believing their false claim of business partnership and duping him to the tune of Rs 20 lac.

Francis Richard Rebello (48), a resident of Katbelthur village of the taluk, who is presently working in Saudi Arabia, has accused Ganesh Kumar, Kimji Patil and his wife Tanaja Bhatkal of cheating him of Rs 20 lac.

In his complaint, Francis stated that he got acquainted with Ganesh Poojary, a resident of Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district, through one of his neighbours. Ganesh allegedly made Rebello believe that PRL Champion Water Tank factory, owned by Kimji Patil of Tumakuru was his own and requested the complainant to be a partner in the firm on December 19, 2016 and even made a written agreement.

Accordingly, an amount of Rs 10 lac was transferred to Ganesh Kumar's account on December 22, 2016 and another Rs 9.30 lac from the account of Rebello's wife to Ganesh's account on December 27, 2016. In addition, Rs 70,000 was also given in cash during the agreement.

All the transactions, amounting to Rs 20 lac, took place in Kundapur and Katbelthur. Later, when the complainant came to know that the factory did not belong to the accused Ganesh Kumar and asked him to refund the amount, he made the complainant believe through agreement that he would return Rs 14,25,000 on September 13, 2017 but did not return the same and went underground.

A case against Ganesh Kumar, Kimji Patil and his wife Tanaja Bhatkal has been filed by Francis Rebello in the rural police station of the taluk.

Where Mr patil and his wife come in this incident?
It is very strange that NRI did not enquire any thing about this Ganesh or the legal papers of the unit in which he is planning to invest huge sum. Looks something connected with "demonitization?"

If you invest your money related to demonitization then you will not complain right ?

Highest demonetized money was found in Gujarat state
.Mr Mahesh Shah alone declared  Rs,13,000 crore black money
Most corrupt / Cheats in India are from Gujarat
Most people who deceived bank are from Gujarat
We all will pray that God gives them a good heart,  so that they do not loot our money.

    Rajesh
Just because you filed a compkaint doesn't make your funds legal? I know your frustration /hate towards Gujarathis. But don't forget there so many other State ppl who have duped Govt /Banks. Here it is related to a person investing huge sum of money without proper enquiry so it gives some doubt about both sides.
No need to comment about any State here. After all you r also pappu so whatever the case you want to blame Gujarathis
