Bengaluru, Oct 11: Rains are back in the state. Most parts of the state received rains since the afternoon of Saturday, October 10.

In Bengaluru areas like Jayanagar, Basavanagudi, Electronic City, Majestic, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Banashankari and Padmanabhanagar received heavy downpour and roads got converted into mini ponds.

Coastal regions of Mangaluru, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts also received rain with thunder on the evening and night of Saturday. Most regions of Malnad also received rains. Rains are going to lash the state for the next three days. A yellow alert is declared in the coastal region of Karnataka and district administration is instructed to take precautionary measures in case of floods.

Due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, most of the regions of Karnataka will receive rains in the coming three days according to the alert announced by the meteorological department. Air depression is more in the Andaman region. There is a possibility that this may convert into a storm. Due to this till October 13 rain will show its fury in most parts of Karnataka.

There is a possibility of rain in the north interior parts of the state also. A yellow alert is declared in the districts of Bidar, Kalaburagi, Bagalkote, Yadagiri, Raichur and Vijayapur districts till October 12. According to the information shared by C S Patil, director of state meteorological department, south interior parts of Karnataka will receive heavy rains on October 11.

Apart from Karnataka, rain is going to lash states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and Maharashtra. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are already experiencing heavy rains.
