Yeddy has No Guts to Remove Reddys, says Siddaramaiah
Mangalore, Apr 21 (DHNS): Even though many criminal cases including illegal mining scam are pending against Reddy brothers, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa does not dare to ask for their resignation, Leader of the Oppostion in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said here on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference he said criminal cases are also pending against ministers Renukacharya, Muru- gesh Nirani and others. However, CM is not ready to drop them from the ministry, he added.
Discussing the power crisis in the State, Siddaramaiah said Yeddyurappa, former Energy Minister Eshwarappa and BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar were “cheating” people by giving erroneous figures regarding power supply. Ananth Kumar’s allegations of UPA government denying power to State from central grid is far from truth.
“As per the Gadgil Committee recommendations, the Centre can supply only 1498 - 1546 MW power to the State. The Centre has not shown any kind of discrimination that the power is being supplied from Central grid according to the Gadgil Committee recomm- endations,” he said.
“As Parliament member, Ananth Kumar never raised the State’s power crisis in the Lok Sabha, he said.
Siddaramaiah said he personally met Union Energy Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde and collected statistics which showed that the Central government had not discriminated against the State.
