Mangaluru: DC Dr K V Rajendra tests corona-positive, under home quarantine

Mangaluru, Oct 13: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday October 13.

At present, the DC is under home quarantine as he is showing no symptoms of the virus.

As per the district health bulletin on Monday October 13, a total of 26,832 positive cases have been reported till date, out of which 4,285 are currently active. A total of 1,99,759 samples have been tested, out of which 1,72,927 are negative.

As many as 21,938 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 194 on Monday. A total of 609 deaths have occurred so far, including four on Monday.

    if people like Dr Rajendra test postive, that means the preventive protocol of SMS (Social distancing, Mask and Sanitization (SMS) is not working... these officers definitely are following the preventive protocol... still how they are getting infected... what is the cause of infection despite SMS...

    I agree with your comment K b r. But, I am surprised to know how they come to know they are positive, if they do not show any symptoms of virus? Just maintaining distance and wearing masks not sufficient. Other safety measures like washing hands/santising hands hold equally important. In my neighbourhood some work in good posts... Few of them come home for lunch. Have food and go. Same in the evening. Immediately one should take bath coming back from office or market or functions etc.....now in one house, children and father are infected......Instead of sitting/talking/having tea people should straight away go for bath.... This may prevent infection to some extent. Money too plays an important role in spreading.... Even wearing glasses too very effective now a days...
